Barbara Fallen was appointed as the Director, VA Loma Linda Healthcare System on June 30, 2013. She has the responsibility for the overall management of the 1b tertiary care teaching facility that provides primary health care services to more than 71,000 Veterans in Southern Californiaâ€™s Inland Empire and portions of Southern Nevada.
Prior to this role, she served as the Deputy Network Director, Network Operations Officer, and Network Strategic Management Officer. In her role as Deputy Network Director she served as Acting Director, VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System and Acting Network Director, VA Desert Pacific Healthcare Network.
Ms. Fallen previously served in positions at VA healthcare systems in Long Beach, Albuquerque, Phoenix, Temple Texas and Hines Illinois. She is a graduate of the prestigious Presidential Management Intern Program. Her VA career started in Clinical Nutrition at Hines VA in Chicago. She progressed within the ranks of Food and Nutrition Service until transitioning into an administrative career in 1987.
Ms. Fallen received her undergraduate degree in Nutrition from San Diego State University in 1981 and Masters of Public Administration and Healthcare Administration degree from Arizona State University in 1987. She is a Registered Dietitian and a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

AD for Administration
In December 2006, Mr. Shane M. Elliott was appointed as the Associate Director for Administration of the VA Loma Linda Health Care System (VALLHCS). Mr. Elliott served as the Acting Medical Center Director from October 1, 2012 to May 31, 2013 and from October 1-November 30, 2014.
Mr. Elliott is a native of New York and received a Bachelorâ€™s of Science Degree in Respiratory Therapy from Loma Linda University, and completed his Masterâ€™s in Business Administration from the University of Redlands. He joined the VA in 1990 and prior to being appointed to Associate Director he held several positions within the VA. During Mr. Elliottâ€™s career with the Department of Veterans Affairs he has held various clinical and administrative positions with increasing responsibility. Mr. Elliott is a member of the San Gorgonio Search and Rescue Team, a volunteer organization that rescues lost hikers in the San Gorgonio wilderness.

Chief of Staff
In October 2002, Dr. Evans was appointed as Chief of Staff of the VA Loma Linda Healthcare System. From 1997 to 2002 he served as Chief, Ambulatory Care and Healthcare Administration of the VA Loma Linda Healthcare System (VALLHCS). He served as the Acting Network Chief Medical Officer from October â€“ early December 2014
Dr. Evans is a native of New York and received a Bachelorâ€™s Degree in History from Southern Adventist University, Collegedale, Tennessee; and his MD from Loma Linda University School of Medicine, California. He holds professional licensures in Tennessee and California and completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowship in Endocrinology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He joined the VA in 1986 and prior to being appointed as the Chief of Staff he held several positions at VALLHCS. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine, Loma Linda University School of Medicine and the Associate Professor of Health Policy and Management for the Loma Linda School of Public Health.

Associate Director for Patient Care Services/Nursing Services/Chief Nursing Officer
Dr. Lloyd joined VALLHCS on January 6, 2014, from New Mexico Veterans Administration Health Care System where she served as Associate Chief, Nursing Service. Dr. Lloyd is a U.S. Army Veteran and brings 18 years of nursing and nursing leadership experience to VALLHCS. Dr. Lloyd possesses a Doctorate of Nursing Practice and is a nationally certified progressive care nurse. Dr. Lloyd has held a variety of clinical and leadership positions in tertiary and community teaching hospitals in the Albuquerque, NM area. Her past clinical experience includes progressive care, emergency services, telemetry and cardiothoracic sub-acute care with leadership in both inpatient and outpatient care settings.

Ms. Asher joined the management team at VA Loma Linda Healthcare System in June 2011. Ms. Asher received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. She continued her studies earning a Masterâ€™s in Health Services Administration and MBA from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Ms. Asher joined the VA in 2004, starting her VA career at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center, in Cincinnati Ohio. She has also held positions at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System and served a detail as the Assistant Director at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. She is a certified clinical engineer and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). From October 1, 2012 to May 31, 2013, Ms. Asher served as the VA Loma Linda Healthcare System Acting Associate Director for Administration. She also assumed the role as Acting Associate Director for Administration from October 1 - November 30, 2014.
