Barbara Fallen was appointed as the Medical Center Director, VA Loma Linda Healthcare System, on July 1, 2013. In this role she has responsibility for the overall management of the 1b tertiary care teaching facility that provides primary health care services to more than 67,000 Veterans in Southern California's Inland Empire and portions of Southern Neveda.
Ms. Fallen previously served as the VISN 22 Deputy Network Director, Acting Director for VA Southern Neveda and Acting VISN 22 Network Director. She has held high level positions at VA healthcare systems in Long Beach; Albuquerque, Phoenix, Temple Texas and Hines, Illinois. She is a graduate of the prestigious Presidential Management Intern Program. Her VA career started in Clinical Nutrition at Hines VA in Chicago. She progressed within the ranks of Food and Nutrition Service until transitioning into an administrative career in 1987.
Ms. Fallen received her undergraduate degree in Nutrition from San Diego State University in 1981 and Masters of Public Administration and Healthcare Administration degree from Arizona State University in 1987. She is Registered Dietitian and Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
AD for Administration
In December 2006, Mr. Shane M. Elliott was appointed as the Associate Director for Administration of the VA Loma Linda Health Care System (VALLHCS).
Mr. Elliott is a native of New York and received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Respiratory Therapy from Loma Linda University, and completed his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Redlands. He joined the VA in 1990 and prior to being appointed to Associate Director he held several positions within the VA. During Mr. Elliottís career with the Department of Veterans Affairs he has held various clinical and administrative positions with increasing responsibility. Mr. Elliott is a member of the San Gorgonio Search and Rescue Team, a volunteer organization that rescues lost hikers in the San Gorgonio wilderness.
Chief of Staff
In May 1997, Dwight C. Evans, MD, was appointed the Vice President for Ambulatory Care and Healthcare Administration of the VA Loma Linda Healthcare System (VALLHCS). In October 2002, Dr. Evans was appointed the Chief of Staff of the VA Loma Linda Health Care System (VALLHCS).
Dr. Evans is a native of New York and received a Bachelorís Degree in History from Southern Adventist University, Collegedale, Tennessee; and his MD from Loma Linda University School of Medicine, California. He holds professional licensures in Tennessee and California and completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowship in Endocrinology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He joined the VA in 1986 and prior to being appointed as the Chief of Staff he held several positions at VALLHCS. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine, Loma Linda University School of Medicine and the Associate Professor of Health Policy and Management for the Loma Linda School of Public Health.
Prachi V. Asher, FACHE, joined the management team at VA Loma Linda Healthcare System in June 2011. Ms. Asher received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. She continued her studies earning a Masters in Health Services Administration and MBA from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Ms. Asher joined the VA in 2004, starting her VA career at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center, in Cincinnati Ohio. She has also held positions at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System and served a detail as the Assistant Director at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. She is a certified clinical engineer and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).
